For Decision Makers

Bridge Between Academia and Practice

HR ConScience, a start-up consulting business of the University of Zurich, aims at building a bridge between academia and HR  decision-makers.

Many management decisions are based on personal experience or intuition. Often times we lack the resources for an in-depth analysis of the most recent scientific insights and facts. Even though our gut feeling is important, evidence-based decision-making is key for a sustainable company success. HR Conscience develops an evidence-based basis your decision-making.

SCIENTIFIC, EVIDENCE-BASED, CUSTOMIZED

We use a customized approach, based on scientific methods, to find the best solution for your specific problems and challenges. Thereby, we develop an evidence-based basis for an efficient and sustainable management of human resources. The services of HR Conscience are based on three scientific methods:

Analytics: Collection and analysis of HR-related data for the optimization of decision processes

Validation: Review and validation of HR concepts

Refresher: Preparation and presentation of the current state of research and workshops for HR related topics

ANALYTICS VALIDATION REFRESHER
Does your company have a fair pay system? We are a cooperation partner of the Federal Office for Gender Equality and provide an independent and unbiased pay equality-analysis.

Would you like to know more about your employees and what is currently important to them? Depending on the question we use different methodological approaches for collecting and analysing data. For example, we conduct interviews or design questionnaires and analyse the impact of personnel and organizational factors as well as HR practices on your organization’s key indicators.

Would you like to know whether the introduced measures achieve their desired effects? With our before and after analysis we are able to analyze the effects of newly implemented HR measures. This method is also suitable for change management processes accompanying organizational changes. To evaluate the effects of newly implemented HR measures or organizational changes, we survey employees before and after the implementation of the change and analyze the data in accordance to previously defined indicators.

By regularly repeated data collection we are able to identify patterns and developments in your organization. Our trend analysis is therefore a strategic tool for personnel policy makers.

Do you have a big data pool in your organization but not the resources to analyze them? We would love to undertake the preparation and analysis of your existing data on behalf of you and provide you with a written report.

You have an existing concept and would like to have a validation from a scientific perspective? We give you feedback based on the most current scientific literature and also provide suggestions for improving your concept.

Would you like to learn more about a certain HR topic in an interactive workshop? We are preparing the current state of HR research and discuss possible practical implications and challenges with you.

Would you like to have a short overview for a certain HR topic? We have access to the most current academic literature and summarize the findings for you.
